amazing riverside jungle experience

i loved that the hotel was by the riverside in the jungle. the experience was like becoming one with nature. we only had oil lamps at night and internet access was limited to the lobby (i thought that was a plus). i enjoyed jumping into the river and floating along. the staff was friendly and feeding wandi the elephant was a highlight.
the lighting in our room was inadequate. the solar light and torch were not strong enough to see in the bathroom or bedroom. it was difficult to shower in the evening and there was no good spot to hang the solar light in the bathroom. (i wish they provided more lighting).

the room was a raft, equipped with mosquito nets and reasonably comfortable beds. a small bathroom was in the back. hammocks and seating were available outside.

the evening meal was tasty and located right by the river. i ate a lovely breakfast. wasps were a problem during breakfast, so i took some bread back to the room.

the hotel offers a mon dance in the evening at a floating stage. i liked exploring the mon village. the journey to the hotel was by boat.

the boat trip from the pier was a highlight. the resort looked good upon arrival. dinner was reasonably ok. i loved watching the mon dance in the evening. the staff were helpful and feeding the elephant breakfast was enjoyable.
the room was very dark all the time, even during the day with windows open. there was an issue with the charging station, so i couldn't charge my devices.

dinner was tasty, and i enjoyed sitting right by the river. i found the breakfast to be adequate, with fresh fruit and a selection of breads (i especially liked the fresh fruit!).

the setting was beautiful in nature. my bungalow was basic (as expected) for this location. i felt that two nights were perfect because it is isolated.
i found the room very dark at all times. it was even dark during the day, even with the windows open. there was a charging station, but there was an issue (it wasn't working). it felt pricey for very basic accommodation.

poor lightinghot nights
I found the lack of proper lighting really frustrating. the provided oil lamps barely illuminated the room. I couldn't see anything in the bathroom. showering in complete darkness was not enjoyable. also, the constant noise from other guests passing by early in the morning made it hard to sleep. It was very annoying. the lack of air conditioning made nights very hot
